COMMUNITY ONCOLOGY      

                                                   

The department of Community Oncology was set up in the institution with aim of reducing the incidence, morbidity, and mortality related to cancer in the population.

The department functions with the objectives to detect cancer and pre-cancer conditions as early as possible, to raise public awareness regarding the prevention and control of cancer, and thereby reduce the burden of the disease in the population.

     

     Services provided:
  •    Community-based cancer screening camps with “Wheels of Hope” - Mobile Cancer Screening Unit.
  •     CanCare - In hospital opportunistic cancer screening facilities.
  •     Cancer awareness classes/ seminars/ lectures/ talks.
  •     Volunteer training in cancer prevention and control.
  •     Hospital-based cancer registry.
